Tracking on a warm day…
May 15, 2009 on 3:35 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI decided to go tracking today during my lunch break… it had rained heavily last night and I figured the conditions would still be good. I laid a track with three legs. Each leg approx 100-150 feet and an article on each leg. Food was sporatic. Ground cover was lawn-like grass in Villa Julie’s front field. Grass was dry due to the mid-seventies temps, slight breeze and warm sun. The underlying ground was a mix of dry and some damp areas… I figured the conditions were good.
Charlie’s nose was deep in some areas and very high in others. He was distracted at times and had to be reminded to pay attention to what he was doing. A gentle reminder worked, but I felt he should not need to be reminded. Also, the last leg left him with a high nose, panting with warm weather. He found all the corners, he found all the articles. Without help, I don’t know if he would have been dedicated to finishing the track. I was a tad disappointed with his attitude, even though he did it, found the way and finished the track. Had this been the “real deal”, I don’t know if we would have qualified… sigh.
Happy Mother’s Day from Zelda and Charlie Brown
May 8, 2009 on 9:14 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI was surprised by a UPS delivery yesterday!
I don’t know who the guys got to help them with this purchase and delivery, but it sure did make my day. A dozen long stem roses and vase, delivered to my door… all colors–yellow, red, pink, violet and white… I don’t get flowers often, but my guys sure surprised me this year!
Thank you to Zelda and Charlie Brown’s (unknown to me) helper! I may go nuts trying to figure it out!!!

The kids also had a card hand delivered with a gift certificate to Eddie’s and a request for chicken for them, oops that was crossed out and a request for chicken for me (to share with them) included
Of course I will honor their wonderful gift of not having to cook dinner on Sunday and I will (they knew it too, share the roasted chicken with them!) I might even give them a roasted chicken dinner tonight! They are such good dogs and seem to have a few friends willing to go the distance to be sure I get recognized on Mother’s Day.
Thanks to Zelda and Charlie’s anonymous friends and helpers… I am happily smiling and wondering….
